Electrolysis is the only medically proven method of permanent hair removal.

Your therapist will use a sterile disposable probe to enter the hair follicle (this you will not feel as the follicle is a natural opening in the skin).

Then the current is passed down the follicle, cutting off the blood supply that feeds the hair. The current destroys some or all of the growing cells of the hair.

We have pioneered the "blend" method of electrolysis, which has proved to be far more successful in permanent hair removal than the traditional electrolysis. The blending of the currents forms a chemical called "lye", which in turn kills off the treated hair and any other hair that is in the localised area.

Your therapist will advise you at your free consultation approximately how long the treatment will take.

After your hair has been competently removed by using honey-based wax to eliminate any skin irritation, your skin will be smooth and silky. However, the use of Propil Cream from Collin (a progressive and long-lasting depilation with papaya enzyme) will inhibit hair growth and lengthen the time between waxes.

At Tao, we host a regular clinic run by Dr. Rita Rakus, better known as the "London Lip Queen", who has featured in ITV's "Under the Knife" and BBC's "Plastic Fantastic". Dr Rakus offers a range of cosmetic treatments, including:

Many of the treatments use Restylane ® or Perlane ®, which are natural alternatives to the more widely known Botox and Collagen, and are based on NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid). These are manufactured by Q-Med Laboratories of Sweden.

Each of the three choices in the Q-Med Esthetics product range are specially designed for different purposes and effects, from eliminating tiny lines to enhancing facial contours and sculpting lips to perfection.

There are two varieties: RESTYLANE for wrinkle correction and lip enhancements; RESTYLANE FINE LINES for correcting thin, superficial lines, for example around the eyes and mouth, forehead lines and smile lines.
